Bahn tdai Restaurant in Madison

First and likely last time eating here. Waited a long time for the meal. Unfortunately it was bland and undercooked. The red curry tasted like pure coconut milk with little flavor. The onions and bok choy were undercooked. The tofu tasted raw and like it was added as an afterthought. The sauce that went with the noodles was watery. I wonder if the family emergency they have signs posted about means the normal cook staff is away...

The best Thai food in town. The red curry with duck is one of the better meals I've ever had.

It's a decent place that (when requested) makes a decently spicy dish. Unfortunately the food is watered down in tons of water sauce.

I have been eating at Bahn Thai since 1992. I Love this place. I think it is better than the other Thai places in town and I've eaten repeatedly at many of them. Also, really nice people own and manage the place.

Food was delivered in an hour and cold. Delivery person didn't have change so I had to pay the rest of the amount as Tip. The restaurant manager was extremely unpolite and unprofessional. Definitely not going or ordering from the ever again. They even don't include a plastic fork with their food delivery!!!wow

The food here is alright. The pad thai was quite spicy though and the portion sizes are generous. I would recommend it if you're looking for the biggest serving sizes.

Quality/Authenticity has gone down significantly over the past couple years.

The portion size was absolutely huge! I had the house special for Thursday night and still have enough left over for another meal. Same goes for the four large chicken skewered appetizers with the side of cucumber salad.The food was a bit under seasoned but it could be ordered to taste using a five star rating system on the menu.Service was also exceptional with the waitress explaining in detail why they currently did not have the Thai beer. She was most amusing.Overall it was a very good experience.

Place always smells wonderful. Prices are moderate for type of food. ($12-$17 for dinner). Food is very good. Established restaurant on the East side for many years.

Amazing food, and some of the best wait staff. So why only 3 stars? Well, they need help. Waiting for you food can take over an hour. The kitchen gets backed up and things just break down at times. It sucks to see because the people working the tables are definitely at their wit's end. I hope they can get their act together because their food really is special.

My favorite Madison Thai restaurant! Service was fast and attentive. Menu selection superb. Over several visits always had very tasty and excellent Thai food. Highly recommend.

Ordered via EatStreet for pickup. Each time I visit this restaurant, for eat-in or takeout, I kick myself for doing so. Never have I had a timely food order - always late or slow. EatStreet order was ready more than 30 minutes after EatStreet ready time. So, this means that order took 75+ minutes to prepare. Absolutely ridiculous. Seafood medley pad thai contained one slice of scallion, 3 shrimp, 3 scallops (fake) and 2 postage stamp-sized pieces of squid in a pound of overly sweet, greasy rice noodles. All seafood overcooked and dry. Yellow curry with chicken, rangoon were just okay. Spring rolls torn and falling apart. $52 dinner, wasted. Please re-open soon, Ha Long Bay!!!!

Good food WHEN you don’t find them unexpectly CLOSED as sometimes happens AND they are not out of what you order. If there’s a reason when a firm must be closed during advertised hours, their web site should state so! Open 5PM-8PM on Mondyas contradicts being clsoed at 5:55PM.

Their food is great, but the hours suck for someone that works in the area. If I want to go for lunch, they are only open on Tuesdays.

Nothing is perfect - yet this is the first place I've ever had Thai! Since I've traveled... This still will be a favorite of my visits to the wonderful food & culture.

Fantastic food! It would be an easy 5 star rating, however they advertise for the month of March they are open 5-9 PM Tuesday - Sunday. Yet, they have been closed for the last 3 days when i've wanted to order their food. They should state why this is happening on their website or voicemail.

Got Pad Thai takeout through Eat Street, 35 minute wait. Experience was seamless, my dish was nothing special. Fine for what I needed, but far from sensational.

Very unassuming place in an unassuming location; the food was very good. I had a pork eggroll, and the curried duck. It was fantastic food, and will definitely go there again.

Pretty good food, good atomosphere. Highly recommend their Special Spring Rolls with their peanut sauce. They sometimes seem to be under-staffed and whenever I go here there tends to be a long wait time for your food, not always though. The staff is friendly too.

Needed a Thai place while Ha long bay repairs their building and I have to say this place has great quality food and friendly service and is a new favorite of mine. Was sad that they did not have mango sticky rice when I went.

For those who don’t know, Bahn Thai has officially been closed. For those who missed what was happening with our inconsistent hours, the owner, Vandy, has passed on March 7th after his battle with leukemia. His wife, Som is still waiting on her kidney transplant. I take this time to write a review as a long time server at Bahn Thai and close friend to Vandy’s family. We take the time to genuinely thank the customers who were understanding of our situation and continued to support us with kindness. Best wishes to everyone!

Ordered pad Thai for delivery, which was overpoweringly sweet- and crab rangoons, which were also much sweeter than I'm used to. Pretty disappointed. Just wasn't at all what I expect from the dish.

Honestly I would have the given 0 stars if I could. 2 of the workers got in a screaming match with each other. Took an hour and half to recieve my food. Ran out of everything I had wanted to eat because they took too long.

Fantastic and Delicious!! Very veggie/vegan friendly!!! Asked about or veggie focused choices and warned us that some fish stock is normally used but they can do without it!

Massaman Curry was good. The beef came in little strips instead of slow cooked chunks though.
